Here I sit, finishing up the last bits. Editing of the text is mostly done. It is being checked for mechanical problems now. I have to make sure that all my puctuation actually follows the rules. Periods, quotations, ellipsis, interrobangs (okay, none of those), and other marks are being scoured for inconsistencies and errors. This isn't a terribly long process, so I am getting excited.
Especially now that the text is finalized. Yes, pretty much done with the editing. There may be a very tiny edit here and there for readability, but the hard work is done. For now, I am taking a day or two to play with my cats. They have been feeling neglected lately, despite four or five hours of petting and playtime per day. I think it's because I won't give them two cans of wet food per day. They are having to suppliment with kibble. Just please don't call the ASPCA on me.
Currently, I am working my way toward publication. I have the cover design mockups in progress, and am working on the blurbs and advertising copy. Keep watch, as the story of the century* is imminent. It has been a hard road. I don't know why, but this book was actually more difficult than my previous works. But there is an end in sight. I hope that it will be one that makes you happy.
